Check-ins: total score and alerts
Last updated: September 29, 2026
What it is
The total score adds up the answers to the scale and RPE questions of a check-in. Typical example: the Hooper index, 4 questions rated 1 to 7 (sleep, fatigue, stress, soreness), for a score out of 28. No check-in comes ready-made: you build your questions yourself.
Prepare your scales
- Open Check-ins, then your check-in.
- Questions tab: add your scales and set Min and Max (1 and 7 for Hooper).
- When a scale feeds a metric (sleep, fatigue...), say whether the best answer is the highest or the lowest. For Hooper, 1 = very good.
Turn on the total score
- Under the questions, Total score card: turn it on.
- Give a Score name (e.g. Hooper index).
- Pick Best score: Higher is better or Lower is better.
The card shows the range (Sum of 4 scales, score from 4 to 28). Every setting saves on its own. You can take a scale out of the total from its question.
Optional scales
If a counted scale is optional and the athlete skips it, the total is incomplete: it is not computed rather than wrong. The card warns you, with Make them required.
Get alerted
Fill in the threshold: Alert me when the score reaches [20] or more (lower is better) or Alert me when the score drops to [x] or less (higher is better). You get a check-in alert notification with the reason (e.g. Hooper index at 22/28, threshold 20). At most one check-in alert per athlete per week. An incomplete total never alerts. Leave empty for no alert.
Where to read the score
On each check-in (planning check-ins window, notification) and as a curve in the athlete's Evolution. It is separate from the wellness score out of 100. See also Set up your athletes' check-ins.
