Set up your athletes' weekly check-in
Last updated: July 30, 2026
What it's for
The weekly check-in is a form you push to your athletes every week: fatigue, pain, sleep quality, motivation, weight, etc. You pick the questions. It gives you a regular signal without having to ask.
Enable for a program
- Turn on the Weekly check-in option in the program settings.
- From the Planning page, open the Weekly check-in modal (clipboard icon up top): the Settings tab configures questions and the reminder day, the Responses tab shows submissions.
Not available on one-shot programs.
Question builder
Available question types:
- Short text or long text.
- 1-10 scale, RPE, mood.
- Weight, body fat, measurement, photo, body map (pain areas).
- Sleep (hours), steps, calories, hydration, free number.
- Single choice (radio) or multiple choice (checkboxes).
Each question can be required or optional. Drag and drop to reorder. Numeric questions are prefilled with the previous week's answer to save the athlete time.
Monthly check-in
On top of the weekly questions, you can mark some questions as monthly (body composition, progress photos, performance review). Every 4 weeks, the monthly check-in replaces the weekly one and includes those questions.
Per athlete
The modal's Athletes tab lets you adjust the check-in athlete by athlete (disable a periodicity for someone, for example).
Reminder day
Pick which day of the week athletes get a push reminder to fill out the check-in (typically Sunday evening).
Automatic health data
On the mobile app, the steps and active calories questions offer a sync button: the athlete imports their weekly average from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) in one tap.
Direct link
Copy the /app/checkin link to share in a conversation or by email. Athletes land directly on the form.
Review responses
As soon as an athlete submits, you get a notification. Click to see all their answers. A per-athlete, per-week history is kept.
Automatic weight logging
If one of your questions asks for weight, the value is automatically added to the athlete's weight history (visible in their profile).
Monitor training load
To anticipate injury and accumulated fatigue, cross-reference check-in answers with the acute-to-chronic workload ratio. The ACWR calculator places your athlete in a risk zone (undertraining, sweet spot, caution, danger).
0-100 wellness score
When your check-in contains questions about sleep, stress, recovery, soreness or fatigue, Unbrokn automatically computes a wellness score per athlete per week. The 4-week trend appears next to the score. If it drops, the athlete shows up in Athletes to watch.
